  1. So I guess one cannot alter the delivery of a #PostNL parcel anymore without making an account. So now we have to agree to their terms as well as store our personal data longer than needed for delivery just for such a basic functionality. That seems highly unnecessary.

Wanted to complain, because I don't want an account. But that's only possible if it relates to a specific parcel. So I just mailed their #dataprotectionofficer. Let's see what he has to say 🙃

  2. 📢 For the first time, #CPDP.ai 2025 will feature Dedicated Tracks where #ComputerScience meets #Privacy and where privacy intersects with the #DataProtectionOfficer role.

Curated by experts, these Tracks foster interdisciplinary discussions among specialists and the #CPDP.ai community.

Curators:@xot & Marit Hansen (CS), Jolien Ghyselinck & Peter Berghmans (DPO).

  3. @ZebraFeatherAH when I started to work in #DataProtection the guy doing the licensing course to become a #dataprotectionofficer asked "Why are you here?"

I answered that data protection is super important, blah, blah.

Guy didn't even grin or smile. The answer was:

"To learn how to ensure companies can do what they need/want to do but remain compliant with the law at the same time."

That's all that lawyers are for and about. No moral or ethical considerations, just the letter of the law.
