"Yesterday, we told the CEO of #ExxonMobil to 'eat shit.' We didn't do so lightly. #DarrenWoods makes $20 million a year as his already leviathan oil company increases production quarter on quarter, robbing the world of countless lives and ecosystems. He just got back from #COP where he touted decreasing industry emissions as a solution — as though it isn't his literal product keeping choking and burning our world.
#Darren's company actually produced one of the first scientific reports (in 1977) showing that their own product would lead to apocalyptic levels of heating — and they buried it.
And he was literally about to be handed an award from an elite society of scientists and businessmen when we got on stage and told him what we think of him. We shut down the whole event, the whole room fled, and we held the stage so long that they turned out the lights. No awards were awarded.
Yeah, people like Darren are the scum of the Earth and we aren't afraid to say so. It's 2023. People like Darren should be sitting in #InternationalCriminalCourt instead of getting awards."
