Just discovered it last week while watching the Buffy DVD featurettes and have been binging the hell out of it! Jonathan Frid is so damn good... hell! The entire cast is!! How come have I never heard of this show before?

The Mummy (1932) is basically Dracula (1931) in Egypt, with the added twist that the damsel in distress is the reincarnation of the Mummy's long-dead love. Dan Curtis would use this trope with Barnabas Collins on Dark Shadows and then come full circle and use it again in his Bram Stoker's Dracula (1974).

I understand and appreciate why attitudes to beauty pageants have changed over the years, but I wish we could have kept Miss Ghost America and Miss American Vampire. Okay, these events were held to promote a couple of Dark Shadows spin-off movies, but they really should have stayed a thing. And why confine them to America, how about Miss Ghost World or Miss World Vampire (though I suppose Transylvania would be a shoo-in for that last one).
