When you find yourself in possession of a large piece of framed board, your first instinct is to start painting a dark ride on it, right?

It's proving to be quite a change from painting minis (or even magic cards), but I'm enjoying it. That's probably also at least partially from using cheaper craft paint (for now). How can anyone afford to do large canvases with artist grade acrylic anyway?

Nach dem Hinweis dort wollte ich mir die Soundtracks dieser beiden Bahnen gleich anhören. Die sind wirklich witzig (höre oben). Allerdings bin ich nicht so fit da drin, als dass ich herausgehört hätte, dass dahinter auch wieder #ImaScore steckt 😃

Mein nächstes Freizeitpark-Projekt sollte dann wohl sein: Alle Parks in Deutschland und nahem BeNeLux durchgehen, welche davon für mich aus ethischen Gründen für Besuche in Frage kommen.

More work on the teeny dark ride today! I sculpted and baked the model for the flatwoods monster (did I mention the theme of the ride is the flatwoods monster??). The scale is a bit larger than I meant but it should work. (Scarier that way anyway)

The arms and a bunch of trees are in the 3d printer right now. I also cut some foam core into the footprint of the ride.

Next step is laying things out to make sure everything sits how I'd like it too. Then add some elevation and cutting walls from I think plasticard.

Here's my attempt at sculpting some ride vehicles, in the early dark ride style where they were often just repurposed bumper cars. They sort of just look like oddly shaped shoes for now, but some paint and people in them should help! (I hope!)

Also some sketching of the track layout and facade ideas.

Imagine if you took Knott's old "Kingdom of the Dinosaurs" ride and added a cuter version of Discworld's Nanny Ogg, and she had a vaguely Harry-Potter-esque curiosity shop, and the dinosaurs worked in her garden. I think that's everything.

It's quite a bonkers re-theme of a dinosaur dark ride, but it works .
