Tonight's movie, a choice inspired by our last night's Star Wars 4K77, is The Dam Busters. Normally I'm the only one for war movies, unless the cat chooses my lap. Tonight she's the absentee. Possibly because the only prominent animal in it is a black lab retriever, whose name I must omit because otherwise I'd need to CW this.
The bombing scenes in this movie had a big influence on the attack sequences against the Death Star. It's an excellent movie in its own right.

Off to see dad shortly. Chum driving through to visit family near dad, so kindly offered me a ride, save limping on and off train. Sciatica pain much reduced, but still thankful for lift rather than public transport...

Blowing up dams is against the Geneva Conventions. I saw comments from the UK Foreign Minister to that effect. Ironic considering 1943 Operation Chastise (“The Dambusters”)

No doubt Ukrainian civilians will be killed by this dam attack. Wiki says the 1943 attack by the RAF killed 1600 civilians, including 1000 “enslaved labourers, mainly Soviet”. One wonders if that is true and if so, is part of this also “pay back”? War is Hell. -

Did I say I have #dived the #Bouncing #Bombs in #Lock #Striven near #Dunoon twice now? These are *not* the #Dambusters #Upkeep as deployed by #Lancaster #Bombers, but spherical #Highball bombs deployed by #Mosquito. These were the #RAF tools to sink the #Tirpitz. This was my first trip with the Seahorse #Dive Club with Tom. There are only two Highballs on the surface, #Brooklands and the de Havilland Aircraft Museum. This is a true underwater #museum!
