I have a strict rule when rewatching #cDrama, #jDrama, #twDdrama etc. I never score a drama down on Rewatch. So if I rewatch a drama and find that I really like something that I didn't notice the first time, I will score it up but I will never score a drama down from its original score. This is working VERY MUCH in favour of #kDrama #DaliAndTheCockyPrince.
I've nearly finished ep 10 and I still have no clue how I gave it 9/10. I very much do not like the male lead character. For the first 7-8 episodes he's portrayed as barely sentient, so stupid that calling him dumber than a bag of brain damaged rocks is almost kind to him. Forget him being too stupid to plausibly run a business, he's too stupid to be plausibly able to run. He also comes across as not a very nice person. And the development of the romance between the leads from episode 8 on seems artificially forced and without credible foundation. I'm still watching only because I'm truly puzzled by why I scored it so highly.

Rewatching #kDrama #DaliAndTheCockyPrince and into episode 7 I'm not sure why I rated it 9 out of 10. The endless financial skullduggery is mind-numbing, and there is way too much Kwon Yul. I've seen him in eight dramas, and I don't think I've liked his character in any of them. IRL The guy may be the nicest person ever to have lived, but all his characters are just automatic red flags for me. 🙄

Thanks to the famous Five who voted on my "what #kDrama should I rewatch next?" poll. The results provided some helpful confirmation bias so, since vox populi = vox dei , #DaliAndTheCockyPrince it is

I avoided it for the longest time because I thought the name was silly & the costuming / hair styling for the leads looked dumb. BUT I was so wrong. It was a good watch!! (& the styling was spot on!)

Dali and the Cocky Prince
(2021 - Viki, 16 1:05 eps)A rom-com mystery where a well-educated art curator from a wealthy, historic family meets an uneducated, self-made businessman. It has its share of common tropes. Park Gyu Young is a fabulous actress. The unusual styling is perfect for their characters, their chemistry is amazing & Kim Min Jae is definitely a lead.
As the relationship develops, we see them learning from each other. There are a few times when the ML is verbally abusive to the FL because of misunderstandings, his immaturity & the way he grew up. Other than that, I enjoyed all the characters & their stories. The mystery was also engaging with some suspense. It's a good drama with a decent story, beautiful costuming, great cinematography, & wonderful OST which are all used to help tell the story.
