This is a blend of MaggiesFarmRum with a bunch of Caribbean rums but a most terrific non funky sugarcaney high ester blend it is! (Hidden Harbor is a great #tiki and #Rum bar here in #Pittsburgh )
Most exquisite #Daiquiri it makes too (as it's designed for) - I'd put this a notch above one made with Probitas/Veritas even

Decided to stick with #Daiquiri stir tonight - another island #rum (but not for that thread*). Haven't pulled this Hawaiian rimfrom my shelf in a while, a daiquiri may not be the first thing I think of with dark rum.
Glad I did though - this is quite a dessert, so much vanilla and butterscotch notes in this #cocktail1½ oz rum
⅘ (or just short of 1) oz lime juice
⅔ oz simple syrup -

1 oz fresh squeezed lime juice [wish I had shikuwasa]
¾ oz rich simple syrupOh dear f$expletive deleted me - in a well chilled coupe, took a sip and this is exquisite. Close my eyes and aware of the back of my neck calming.
Didn't expect that. 180⁰ from a more upfront sugary rum. -

It’s great to see more advocacy for proper #Daiquiri construction with granulated sugar. Personally I always keep a blend of super fine (white) sugar and Demerara sugar (that I’ve Vitamixed to the same superfine consistency) on hand for Daiquiris. Dissolves much more quickly.
