Code comports and refactoring are still drudge work. At least now when you go there the speed ups are immediate. The older the code , the more the drudgery but there is something to be said for watching calculations that used to take hours complete in minutes and your coffee is still warm. Make a few good choices now and #JustDoIt -
Sunday #AI tools for #Science #DailyTracks : Is it hubris to get pissy with AI when it can't solve a problem that you couldn't solve either ? Probably yes. Your not going to be out there at recess playing kill the guy with the ball together. You can't sneak up on it between periods and give it a wedgie in the hall. Be grateful it's not overtly attempting to do that to you...yet

#DailyTracks #Science Edition : So #AI for #Coding is not a bust. You can speed things up considerably, particularly with porting code and language changes. For calculations however, extreme caution is warranted. If you don't know what the result of a particular calculation SHOULD be, then you can't assume things will be fine. Just tried a new technique for complex thresholding that can cut computation time in half for certain #Entropy problems.That it did. Different answer every time tho

One thing to note in contrast via simpler/smaller #MachineLearning techniques is that peeks under the hood are more revealing ; you can see when your algorithms have tiled significant portions of the relevant signal space and your generalizing functions start jumping to where the holes are. Asymptotic behaviors will tend to emerge right then. In this case they're not spoilers-

Friday #DailyTracks : Well what an appropriate day for this. It’s funny. Back on #LongIsland first year of high school I didn’t realize how nearby the literal East Coast version of the #Toto situation was. Monster musicians were everywhere and not making enough noise while literally in rooms right next door to each other. Both the #Comedy and the musos who found each other became readily apparent over time.
Coin flips mostly.The folks with real plans mostly wound up in accounting

Thursday #DailyTracks : There are a lot of advantages to being a
#MultiInstrumentalist but of course the jack of all trades, master of none challenge applies and increases per instrument. If you’re also a vocalist it will likely be your first source of neglect. Maintaining and or expanding range when parts go that whole tone beyond requires serious attention…and maybe a vocal coach. Practice your instrument (s) , find the right routine and synergy will shrink the challenges to within reason -
Monday #DailyTracks : Many of us have jumped in and out of music and gigging over literally decades while flirting with the threshold that makes music a sustainable endeavor.There always seem to be ridiculous new twists on how to sink actual musicians and their music -#AI and streaming farkery are only latest on the theme of screwing musicians for all they’re worth while allegedly doing them “favors”.

Monday #DailyTracks : #MusicIndustry talk these days goes south early and often- a constant reminder that, if you've managed to meet and on occasion even play with a few of your heros, they being of a certain musical miracle age, then you are blessed, if not by fame or fortune, then by hope that there is still time...for more of the same... simple joy in playing music together in a room somewhere. Wednesday #DailyTracks: #Acoustica has updated #Mixcraft Pro to 10.5 .The big surprise for this free update is a new stem separation module but lots of other stuff to keep up with the jonesing. For first timers this #DAW is probably a best *bang for buck* scenario and just keeps getting better

Friday #DailyTracks : Technically music , sound and production are *not on strike* but seriously WTF ? Perhaps a more cohesive battle plan in the future. All are people that feed off one another in the same workflow... and of course share many of the same issues.Very frustrating. Contract synchrony is an interesting concept yes ? No ?

Friday #DailyTracks : So yeah Horn back in the mix after a decade but new in that decided to make the move to #Tenor. Starting off like whoa this is gonna take awhile but okay thatza normal. Then only #2 Rl on hand split right away & stiffer reeds were nearly unplayable. #Vandoren #2's Java's arrive today like a *magic* button. Instant fun. Also a potent reminder that ur students need to learn up front how to identify bad reed problems !
