-I survived my company's layoffs even though most contractors got axed. Heck, I billed more hours for the first 3 weeks of December than I do in a typical month.
-I got pinged by another company for what seems like an interesting opportunity, the level is right, the problem space is interesting.

-I found a liquor store close to home that has a wide selection of good bottles, including some great scotch (in a place where a basic single malt is considered a top-of-the-line luxury). Not bad for a town of 22k people.

-I got my coding tools set up on a RPi5. Most of them compiled out of the box. A single one needed a tiny bit of love, I'll be working with the maintainers on that. We even almost ordered a RPi500 with its cute monitor, but couldn't justify it.

Political #DailyPositive: Austria has unblocked Bulgaria and Romania from entering the Schengen Area, which means, that, for the first time, Greece will have a Schengen path over land to the rest of the (continental) Schengen space. And, which means that it'll become a lot more practical for me to visit Bulgaria, which is just a few hours from home.

#DailyPositive: Surprise trip to Thessaloniki for some paperwork, the drive went very smoothly, I had no problem finding my hotel, and I got to visit some of the city, which is very pleasant. Plus, I got to ride the metro within the first week of operation, which adds one more metro to my collection...

Cost us about $150+tax for an 8GB version. Only drawback: the RAM is not upgradeable.
