Hugh Latimer, Protestant martyr, on the Lord’s Prayer. In it he finds a fascinating reason to help poor Christians. He says that you have wealth, while they have been praying all along for OUR daily bread. Thus, their prayer is more effectual than yours. Helping them is a way to be thankful to those who prayed for you.
