Just another hermit on eelgrass. With a loaded limpet for company. These intertidal hermits use the eelgrass more than the flimsier seaweeds; for safety after a molt, as a food source in summer when the eelgrass is coated with diatoms, and — mostly, it seems — as a viewing platform. #VancouverIsland #HermitCrabs #IntertidalInvertebrates #Invertebrates #MarineLife #DailyHermit
