Ich suche in meiner #Freizeit eine neue niedrigschwellige #Herausforderung technischer Natur für mich.

Liebäugle schon eine kleine Weile damit #Haiku auf einem (vernünftigen...) Endgerät zu installieren und eine Zeit lang als #DailyDriver einzusetzen.

Until today I haven't used #xfce DE before, as I was attracted by KDE, and I also use (in a very loose term) Cinnamon, as #linuxmint is my #dailydriver .
But as my installation of #fedora42 went wrong somehow and I don't have much time to investigate, I've decided to try some #LightweightLinux on my laptop.
#manjaro with XFCE, so far, it's not bad, a bit different from Mint, sure. But I hope the usefulness of the old machine will increase.

I also have different daily driver keebs @home (TKL+trackball, clicky) and @work (60% w/thumbstick, silenced tactile). And I do have a 40% keeb (TVK MiniVan) always with me in my daypack. But I only use it if I have to type a lot on the laptop.

Been setting up my #QubesOS installation with #whonix and #kali template, and #FedoraSilverblue as my #dailydriver. Maybe a fully patched #windows #qube too, for #payload testing.

When I distrohop I'm often confused what should I do after the installation is complete and what order should I follow so I wrote a list of post installation steps. (I plan to distrohop to Debian so I'll need this list soon)

And we're done! Behold my new #DailyDriver.

Mods:

- Lid portion of hinge reinforced with JB Weld
- Swapped out "questionnaire" touchbar for the regular 3c/mx one
- Swapped out EL panel for newer one with better colour

The keyboard membrane feels a bit mushier than on my previous 3mx. I'll give this one a go for a few days, but I might swap it out.

The screen contrast is low by default, but increasing it 4 steps makes it usable.

Otherwise, I'm happy with it. 😊
