I bought a #Nikon #D7200 DSLR a few weeks ago. I was very hesitant to buy the AF-S DX Zoom-#Nikkor1755mm f/2.8G IF-ED lens, as it is often said in forum threads that it is now too old and would not be able to meet the demands of the recent 24 MP average sensors. Verdict: This professional zoom designed in 2003 is still worthy of its great reputation 15 to 20 years later. On my D7200, the focus is fast and accurate, and the sharpness is impressive, regardless of the focal length or aperture used.

I've been playing with #PrimeLenses during a few years, without regrets, and with a lot of fun. Let's change the game by replacing them with this little baby for my #Nikon #D7200. Many #feedback tell that this old lens is still incredibly #sharp on modern #DSLR like mine. So let's try it and taste a bit more versatility without scarifying quality ! This second hand copy is almost new which is rare in 2023 ... I think I'm lucky ! 🙂 #MastoPhoto #MastoPhotography

💡 I must admit that my return to DSLRs with the acquisition of a #Nikon #D7200 not long ago was painful... as I felt that the photos were all soft and that the AF often missed its target. After making the following two optimizations, the problem is solved, and I am relieved :
- Fine AF tuning
- Slight optimization (+1 in sharpness and saturation) in the "Standard" profile of "Picture Control
After this, I feel that the performance of my #DSLR body and my 2 prime lenses are correctly exploited 🙂

I struggled a lot to set fine AF tuning on my #D7200 #Nikon #DSLR with my 2 prime lenses (#Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 DX G and 50mm f/1.8 G). Here are my settings for the 35mm lens. I'm wondering why are lenses so out of misaligned ? I had here do apply -17 in addition to default -20 value. I tested this lens on my daughter's #D90 DSLR and there is no AF problem (despite there is no fine AF tune feature on it). How could we explain this ? On my D7200, is this due to my very demanding 24 MP #sensor ?

I really enjoyed discovering and using a #HybridCamera for a couple of years but I'm glad to be back on a #DSLR. It's heavier, bigger, but a good 100℅ coverage and bright pentaprism viewfinder, a really responsive AF, I missed it. Also, as my #Nikon #D7200 is newer than my old #Fujifilm X-T1, the ISO boost is much better. Shooting at ISO 12800 or even ISO 25600 is fearless. I am delighted.
