Speaking of the #E-mu #Proteus/1 I love how some presets sometimes contain hints to some competitors. Here is the “NoiseFree LA” synthesis that trolls the LA synthesis of the #Roland #D50 (this patch is similar to the Staccato Heaven of the D50). There’s another patch on the Proteus called Phantazia trying to reproduce the D50’s Fantasia.

I really like my Roland D-05, it really sounds like the old D-50. However, far too many of the best D-50 presets have been claimed by Enya. As much as I try, I can't play anything but Orinoco Flow with Pizzagogo. Enya loves the D-50 and used its presets on so many of her songs, I really need to convert my old library of homemade LAPC-I/MT-32 patches to D-50 so I can play something else.

I was reading on linear arithmetic synthesis as i'm impressed how some DOS games sound with Roland MT-32/CM-32L emulation.
LA synthesis offered the realistic sounds of a sampler with the control and creativity of a synthesizer. Typical LA synthesis instrument is a PCM attack combined with synthesis. Found this great example why its awesome.

@openmastering I'm also using @LibraZiK with kind of old PCs (~10 years old) with SSD hard-drives, a scarlett 2i2 or sometimes a crappy internal audio interface. The software that I'm mostly using are #Ardour, #Lmms, #Hydrogen, some #lv2 or free proprietary #vst plugins (sorry). I also have some vintage gears (#D50, #D20 #U220, #Wavestation, #Proteus, #Electribe es1 mk2) and some analog one (#Microbrute, #Neutron).
