So the Pirate party (popular in the Fediverse) still gets almost 9 % of the Czech votes, but the former centre-liberal, now rather populist-conservative, dominated the parliamentary elections.

#Babiš, knowing he's the underdog, has gone for "a strident no-holds-barred second-round campaign," focused on depicting the former general as a warmonger who'd drag #Czechia into war and a representative of an ‘asocial government’," and relying on social media disinfo for an extra boost.

And there's #PetrPavel, the "centrist military technocrat" whose platitudinous promises, "steady-as-you-go conservatism" and vows to play by the constitutional and legal norms is rallying "left-liberals and right-wing anti-communists alike," primarily among urban and middle-class voters.

Even though Hilšer had come a decent third in the #Pirates member survey, just 4% of Pirates/STAN voters went to "another candidate".

Finally, worth noting (on possibly a slightly concerning note for R2?) that #Babiš was clearly the most successful in pulling in 2021 non-voters.

A majority (60%) of #SPOLU voters went for Pavel and, slightly to my surprise, an even larger share of #Pirates / STAN voters (64%) — but that's because Fischer took 14% of SPOLU voters (vs 4% of Pir/STAN). Nerudová did take a greater share of Pirates/STAN (22%) than SPOLU (16%) voters.

Yes, Babiš did especially well in the traditional bulwarks of the communists, soc-dems and far right in the country's peripheries.

But those are also the regions where, even as it reached a healthy 68% overall, turnout lagged far behind:
