Here's a seasonal image of a #cytology #EyePath slide, showing the striking feature of ferning. I'm no expert in the phenomenon (rarely see it in my practice), but it reflects the protein/salt composition of the fluid, in this case a vitreous aspirate. Rather pretty 😊
