Feeling slightly guilty about enjoying this phenomenal rainy, stormy weather. It is like we got the glorious weather, Gujarat and people on barges, etc or who suffered damage got the #CycloneTauktae danger.

Peak summer, peak pandemic, unprecedented cyclone and power outages. Food spoiling, kids scared, phones running out of charge, people can't access emergency instructions because no power, no TV!

It is completely routine life here in Nalasopara, just as per July instead of May. Power cuts, flooding, unhelpful helplines.

Point of the last few RTs is that powercuts are normal in Nalasopara. They just need an excuse. #CycloneTauktae is a great excuse!

I think we are the only people left with power in our area. Mostly because I OCD switched off all fans and anything consuming power as soon as power went out last night. So at least we have light and news. #CycloneTauktae not sure for how long unless power resumes.

So the ECMWF model appears to place #CycloneTauktae closer to the coast than the GFS model. IMD uses GFS model, I think.

Anyone know the difference and which one is right? The point of landfall seems to be different for both...?

Wouldn't be surprised at all to have torrential rain today and pretty good rain tomorrow too.

So #CycloneTauktae story isn't over just because passed.

Good news is worst of summer is pretty much over if monsoon comes on time.

Several Mumbaikars heaving a sigh of relief that the #CycloneTauktae has passed. Wait. That is why god made websites with visualizations. So far we got winds that entered in coastal Konkan and came at us over land. Now we get the direct stuff from the sea, torrends of rain.

One thing to thank #CycloneTauktae for - temperatures will be brought down so thoroughly, that we can probably declare the end of the worst of the summer by the time we are done with all the rain to follow.

Last year #CycloneNisarga was to make landfall near our area, but lost power and eventually didn't even reach Mumbai.

#CycloneTauktae doesn't seem in a mood to stop so far. Hopefully it gets weaker before landfall or will be utter chaos if this is it NOT over land.

#CycloneTauktae seems much worse than last year's #CycloneNisarga. The worst of the winds haven't even hit Mumbai yet and people reporting insanely strong wind. Hope it loses some power brushing along the coast before landfall or Gujarat will be screwed.
