Moved components around between bikes and parts bin and think I’m good for #3PeaksCyclocross now, including an 11–50t cassette, Hope RX4+ calipers, and the maximum-permitted (and max that’ll fit) 38mm tyres. Floodlit cyclo-cross is coming! 🌙
The Supermarine Floodlit CX Series, held at the Swindon Supermarine Sports Ground, is returning again this year. There are five rounds. Round one is on 3rd September.

I've seen beer hand-ups in single speed #MTB races.
I've taken a mince pie hand-up in a @BristolCX #CycloCross race (really bad idea, but that's another story).

A5. Nothing currently out of action, but a few years ago, my cyclo-cross bike was out of action for around six weeks in the midst of the season. I tore off the rear mech in a race, trashing it and the mech hanger in the process. It's an unfortunately typical cyclo-cross occurrence.
The delay was caused by a shop's inability to order the correct replacement hanger. This was the shop that sold me the bike, so no excuse for ordering the wrong one more than once.
After that, I bought a second cyclo-cross bike to cover such eventualities in the future. And typically, since then I have never needed that bike as a back-up!

Bit of bike fettling. As I want to try some local #Cyclocross this season (deffo fat lad at the back) I've grabbed a spare budget wheelset for the Genesis. I've put a matching cassette on so I can quick swap the wheelsets. This set currently with some wtb raddlers. Quick local muck about ride on grass to give em a bit of a test! #biketooters

@pete It's a special race that, if we're being honest, doesn't bear much resemblance to a cyclo-cross race. The tyre requirement was probably one of the main things that would be recognised from cyclo-cross. Is it heading for a rename as a gravel race, I wonder? #3PCX #Cycling #CycloCross

One of the Tour de France commentators, referring to Mathieu van der Poel, commented that in cyclocross, it's important to measure your effort.
Nonsense. You ruin yourself getting to the first corner as fast as possible and then hang on for the next 50+ minutes 😂 That's why we love it.

@ascentale @streetmeme @bikenite Belated A1 #BikeNite I was posting from Cumbria, UK. I'm kidding myself that it's a true track stand, but can balance pretty well. I'd say that if that unless there's a camber in the road you can really ONLY track stand on a fixie.
The question reminded of a fun #cyclocross event I used to do that included an elimination/devil race, with the added dimension of needing to track stand at the end of each lap without crossing the line until told to go again. -
@pete I use those collars on my 'cross bikes, just for extra assurance with my remounts. Funnily enough, the only time my seatpost slipped in a cyclo-cross race was during my very first race. The cause was: me. Hadn't tightened the clamp enough and it slipped. Lots 😂
