  1. It’s always interesting to talk with others about what you can measure in agile teams and what actually makes sense! For example, I’m a fan of cycle time and opposed to velocity (especially when it’s used across team boundaries).

Cycle time is a nice, simple empirical metric. Velocity is based on gut feeling.

If you like the idea of a free open source analytics app for #Jira, #OpenProject and #Trello I would be happy to get a thumbs up on Product Hunt. App available for Windows, Linux and Mac. Thanks!

  5. Question: Do you calculate Cycle Time in Integer (1, 2, 3) or in Float (1.3, 2.8, 3.1)?

Do you exclude Weekends or not?

Need Infos for @cylenivo - Boost if you like!

  7. It's enough to make you cry! I still haven't found a good approach to getting cycle time out of #Jira. It's impressive how the market leader in agile “project management” manages to make you non-agile.

This is Jira's definition of cycle time: “Understand your space's cycle time to see how quickly you ship value. Your cycle time is the time it takes a work item to go from first commit to last production deployment based on development and CI/CD data.”

  9. Has anyone seen people abuse #LeadTime or #CycleTime in practice? Other than management using it as a reason to punish a team instead of provide support.
