What I like about Mastodon so far is that it is so multi-faceted. Yes it seems complicated at first but I like I can use the app to keep up with my timeline and check on the people I'm following fairly quickly, a bit like the bird sight, but I can pop over the to Web version and browse through the hashtags, federated etc and look for interesting stuff to follow.
