Found a nice Sudoku algorithm, and made it Cuttle-ified, which means arbitrary glyphs and seeded random. I solved this one and it took a while for the emoji to click, but it was fun doodling.

any polyrhythmic nerd rock duos need a parametric animated music video?

Render inspiration Aalto Maljakko.
Cuttle can export 3D now, so here's the same curve extruded and brought into #Blender for material, lights, and animation.
There's a disconnect though... I'd like to figure out how Cuttle's parameters could also be animated in Blender.

I have a "Shadow" modifier in Cuttle that can do pseudo-3D. Here's a growing fractal vase, Sierpinski curve.

Working on 3D Export (~2.5D for this first version) for cuttle.xyz.
We've been focused on X and Y for five years now, so it's fun to start playing with Z.

Someone in a workshop asked how many patterns are possible to make with our Hitomezashi Sashiko Pattern Generator.
I think it's 2^(warp+weft), so... a comically huge number of possibilities.
By limiting the pattern to 4x4, I see 256 unique patterns.
Our app has 28 rows and cols available, so 2^56, about 72 quadrillion. Animating through every option at 60 frames per second, it would take 38 million years to see them all.

@tldraw we gave up at #CuttleXYZ and show this popup on first scroll event. 😔

Vector math with overloaded operators? Obligatory #CuttleXYZ code component port.

More scrappy UI sketching in @tldraw. Paring down a future widget to the most direct path from where we are now. The question: how to add font rendering options to a font parameter itself.

#CuttleXYZ is doing parametric vector design... I wonder how we overlap with variable font design. -
Knot thread's scrappy conclusion, night 3 of 3.
When I left the thread last night, I had some piles of rope that were sorting themselves knottily.
1. With butt stroke cap, it still looks like a pile of ribbons. The overlapping paths mask out lower ones, which is good for pen plotting or laser scoring.
2. With "no cap," a custom way to flatten and outline a stroke but only keep the parallel parts. Now it's a knot.
3. Stacking those edge strokes.
4. Dashing them. -
I had an idea for rendering knots with Cuttle, but it's a bit late to fully realize it.

A little fiddly (scrappy), but I finally made a "UI" for animation curves in Cuttle.

Print and fold magic images, that change depending on the angle. I made a #CuttleXYZ template for 2 and 3 image versions.

It makes me really happy to read such a glowing review of our little app for laser design. People get it!

Makes me happy to see Burak Türköz's write-up of his thesis project around maker education, designing a mobile maker space, and running a workshop with kids. The houses in the town started with a parametric design in Cuttle!

Selfie holding one light-nanosecond.
In #TheLilypad somebody asked if I'm a billionth of a second younger in the photo than the end of the ruler. 🤔
