Langsam wird es auf meiner #GoToSocial Instanz gemütlich :neocat_comfy:.

Ich habe gerade eine Sammlung von #NeoCat :neocat: Emojis hochgeladen. Das war gar nicht so einfach, da GTS solch einen Sammel-Upload von #MissKey Emoji Archiven noch nicht unterstützt. Man kann Emojis nur einzeln per API Aufruf hochladen.

Da ich aber ein bisschen #Python kann, war das Problem relativ schnell behoben

**Ich habe zwei Scripte geschrieben:**

- Eines um mich per #OAuth zu authentifizieren um ein Bearer Token für die API Aufrufe zu erhalten.
- Ein weiteres, das die meta.json Datei von MissKey kompatiblem Emoji Archiven auswertet und dann alle Emojis im Archiv einzeln per API Aufruf hochlädt.

**Was habe ich gelernt:**

- Wie MissKey Emoji Archive aufgebaut sind.
- Wie man sich bei GTS per OAuth authentifiziert.
- Wie man Emojis aus MissKey Archiven per GTS API calls hochlädt.

Did anyone notice any other emoji on climatejustice.social not working properly?

Suspicion: It might be, because the only difference to the old emoji shortcode is camel case.

I'm today in the process of switching all custom emoji shortcodes to full words in CamelCase.

Most emojis I added a long time ago, before we had a 5000 character limit and back then I thought, that emoji shortcodes should be as short as possible, to take up fewer characters.
Now for a long time I think accessibility is much more important, but I didn't have the drive to change it all yet.

Today I will. It will take some time, but will be done.

What that means for people on climate justice instances: If you use some of the old shortcodes on your profile or e.g. a pinned post, you might want to edit that.
For now the old emojis will still be available, but after a while I'll delete them.
I'll let you know, when I'm finished today, so you know which shortcodes to use in the future.

(When you use the browser you'll see all custom emojis categorized and the new emojis will be in all the categories that start with an upper case letter, while the outdated ones will be in the bottom category that starts with an "x".)

Also feel free to request more custom emojis to add. It would help, if another instance already uses the emoji (which I can easily check and copy in the admin interface) or you provide a png file with transparent background.

@[email protected] It used to be. Now that #Pleroma is back in active development (and ironically it's #Akkoma now being less active) and has #customemojis, there doesn't seem much point anymore to choose Akkoma over Pleroma for technical reasons nowadays ​:cirnoShrug:​

I mean I guess if you like #MFM so much you'd want Akkoma since Pleroma doesn't implement that yet, but other than that I don't see much point ​:sagume_think:​
