Die Serie "How I met your mother" hat das ja mal satirisch aufgegriffen, indem sie den skrupellosen Wallstreet-Banker Barney wortwörtlich sagen lässt, dass er in sämtlichen Genres immer für die Bösen war. Er hat sogar als "Running Gag" ne lebensgroße Sturmtruppler-Figur im Wohnzimmer. Inzwischen bestätigt sich in mir der Gedanke, dass die Serienmacher damit auf bestimmte Tendenzen bei Finanzlobby und Co hinweisen wollten 😬 -

Dark Enlightenment founder Curtis Yarvin says equating democracy with 'good government' is wrong
In 2008, the American software engineer Curtis Yarvin posted an online pamphlet, under his pen name Mencius Moldbug. It was entitled Patchwork: A Political System for the 21st Century.
Mencius, for the record, was the name of a Chinese Confucian philosopher (c 300 BCE), who held that people should have the power to overthrow an unjust ruler. The name is telling, given the tenor of his pamphlet. Like so much of the early blogosphere, it read like a rambling, late-night coffee-and-ketamine diatribe about politics and what ails modern America, until it finally hit its punchline:
'The basic idea of Patchwork,' wrote Yarvin/Moldbug, is that governments can and should be replaced by 'a global spiderweb of tens, even hundreds, of thousands of sovereign mini-countries, each governed by its own joint-stock corporation without regard to the residents’ opinions.'
In other words, democracy should be dumped. And in its place: corporate-run states would compete for citizens on the open market — and if those citizens were unhappy, they could simply pick up and move somewhere else.
Think of it, Yarvin went on, 'as a modified version of monarchy.' His philosophy was the basis for what he later called the Dark Enlightenment: an anti-democratic state ruled by a CEO-style leader or a monarch.

So what is the long term aim of the Dark Enlightenment?
Ultimately, the vision is a world ruled by Big Tech and their investors.
According to Margaret O’Mara, a former policy analyst for Al Gore and author of The Code: Silicon Valley and the Remaking of America, people bankrolling experiments in Dark Enlightenment projects, especially the deep pockets in Silicon Valley, 'don’t really care what happens to the government.'
'If it all just blows up and goes sideways, it doesn't matter, because at the end of the day, what [Silicon Valley is] looking for is tech to rule above all.'
O’Mara says tech billionaires have put their faith in AI and the tools and platforms they are building, more than ideas like democracy and any kind of social contract.
So what happens to the rest of us who are not part of the Silicon Valley world, or who don’t care to be ruled by a CEO or monarch as in Mencius Moldbug’s model, who reject Dark Enlightenment?
O’Mara answered dryly: 'I don’t think they’re thinking about the rest of us.'"

Most people with any interest in tech or politics (and especially both) will have heard of Curtis Yarvin. But I still see little discussion of Nick Land, the Ayn Rand of our time. Who came up a lot of the anti-democratic, techno-accelerationist and self-important dogma preached by Yarvin and his ilk.
