"Just asking questions" is exhausting.
Don't wonder if people are curt with you.
If you are coming from a position of privilege, and your reaction to callouts is incredulity, you are acting in defence of your privilege - by making an attack on your own critics.
That is not "just asking questions" and other people know that.
So, you know, fool yourself all you want, but don't act surprised when other people don't buy it.
