Everytime I need to repair something technical / electrical here at home I happily watch an episode from #CuriousMarc‘s YT channel. Seeing which difficulties *they* have to overcome makes me confident that I will be successful at my tiny repairs! 😂 (Like changing the display in my #MiyooMiniPlus or the battery in a PS4 controller.)

The video channel #CuriousMarc got the opportunity to repair a slightly broken one. In this episode he also explains the functions and meaning of the instruments displays, dials and switches.

Check out the guts of a #Soyuz mechanical navigation computer thought to be from the The Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. Apparently this style of nav computer was still used until ~2001.

It's an amazing piece of machinery which you can see for yourself on the #CuriousMarc channel, and read about in detail on Ken Shirriff's blog (@kenshirriff).

I suggest for everyone this video, it is such a nice a wholesome video. And it also shows us why keeping older technology alive is important. Also why we should practice proper archiving and try to keep our data (now days mostly files) up to date and in a format that we hope will be readable in the future.
