Overview The City of Lafayette is a small city located north of the Cumberland River in Macon County, Tennessee, and is the county seat. Interestingly, the City of Lafayette is associated with a divide between the aforementioned Cumberland River’s watershed to the south and the Barren River’s watershed to the north. To the east, the Thomas House and Armour’s Hotel and Spa are located within Red Boiling Springs, with Hermitage Springs located to the northeast along Route 52.
