We have finally created a genetically modified Franken #Bird that get fat as soon as possible.

Anyway, the two breeds of #Chickens that dominated the competition were:
1. 'Arbor Acres White Rocks' which featured in the 'Pure-Bread' category.
2. 'Red Cornish Crosses' from the Vantress Hatchery which out-performed all others in size, weight and width.These two #Birds would cross- bread to produce 'Abor Acre' breed whose Franken genetics still dominate the #Chicken that we eat today.

In the 1940's #Chicken was expensive and reserved only for very special occasions.
In 1948 #Chickens costed around #USD 3 per #Bird.
Which is over #Dollars 30 per Chicken adjusted for inflation, in today's money.That is expensive!
PS: I remember my younger days in the #India of 1970's.
#Mutton or #Meat or #RedMeat was far cheaper to buy. And, it was and still is, more delicious too! -
