🎓 CULCORC at ECREA Summer School 2026
Two CULCORC members, Štěpán Šanda and Uxía Sánchez Lorda, took part in the ECREA European Media and Communication Doctoral Summer School 2026, hosted by Södertörn University in Stockholm.
They joined about 50 PhD students from more than 20 countries, along with fellow IKSŽ doctoral researchers Jan Křovák and Helena Láznička.

The article "Assemblages of Trust: A Discursive-Material Analysis of Czech Citizens’ Perceptions of Media and Democracy" by Karolína Šimková and Jeffrey Wimmer is now available online in the #MeDeMAP Special Issue of ESSACHESS – Journal for Communication Studies.
Drawing on focus groups in the Czech Republic, the article explores how trust in media and democracy is shaped by discourse and material conditions.

🎬 AGON: Constructions of Democracy at Posibl. Media Festival 2026
We are happy to share that AGON has been selected for the official programme of Posibl. Festival 2026, taking place 10–14 August in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
AGON is a film essay exploring democracy as a contested space, combining Prague’s urban aesthetics, intercultural dialogue, political and cultural theory, fiction, and dance.

✍️ Two CULCORC members, Elisabeth Ulrika Wennerström and Štěpán Šanda, recently took part in the Academic Writers Retreat at Jönköping University in Gränna, Sweden.
Štěpán highlighted how the retreat helped him improve the structure and style of a journal article, while Elisabeth described the experience as both inspiring and productive, allowing her to advance an empirical chapter of her PhD dissertation.
Congratulations to both!

The Journal of Latin American Communication Research just published an interview with me (by Fernando Oliveira Paulino - thx!), as part of a special issue on "Academic and Scientific Cooperation in Communication".
