I’m a #productivity enthusiast. I’m interested in #tech

I started this #GoToSocial instance as a mini-project; especially as my coding skills are very, very, limited, so a little bit of education for me. So far, so good.

In my spare time (not that there is much of it) I’m a #CubScout Leader #ScoutingUk

I have an amazing wife and between us we have 5 children - well, I say 'children' but they're all grown up now!

I follow #Formula1 My favourite team is #McLarenF1
I also support #AFCBournemouth 🍒

I find #lego to be extremely cathartic and enjoy building when I can.
I #read a lot; usually crime, mystery, thriller and I enjoy watching #movies.
I have also started listening to #audiobooks

#Nextcloud is where I now store my documents etc - again self-hosted.

It would be great if you would boost and follow so that I can continue to build this instance... 😉

Was in New Orleans all week for work. Had 6 am flight back to Atlanta. Then picked up kid from school and drove 3 hours to join his #CubScout pack for their spring trip. It’s cold and raining and I’m tired. Can’t wait to be home on Sunday.

I attended the #Canberra Museum and Games tonight and had a look at a ton of local, indie games - both video, board and card.

I managed to play Get Down II, Salvage, Mark's Magnificent Marble Maze, CheesePunk!

We spoke to some of the developers behind the games, (one of whom was a former #CubScout with me), and had a great time.

Though space was tight, it was a well run event and I hope they got a lot of exposure.

It's been 34 years... but any time I hear someone say "promise to do my/our best", my brain fills in the rest: "to do my duty to god and my country, to help other people, and to obey the law of the pack"

#CubScout leadership always leaned into the god & country stuff -- I was just there because it was just a thing you did. My friends were there, so I was too.

And yet, that stuff is still in there; go figure.

Spent the last hour printing and cutting out #CubScout promises and laws and Wolf paw prints ready to make calendars with the #Cubs later.

Christmas Party next week and then I will lose the plot because when I don’t have Monday night Cubs I totally lose track of days 🙈🤣 Happens every holiday 🤦🏼‍♀️⚜️

Hello Mastodon, I figured I would wait a few days before an #introduction to try to get the lie of the Mastodon terrain.

I am originally from #yorkshire in the UK but emigrated to #canberra, #australia when I was a teen and, with a couple of breaks for good behaviour, I've lived here ever since.

I'm married to the love of my life and have two teenage children who drive me insane.

I've been a gamer since the #zxspectrum days and owned and managed a #videogames store in the 90s. #gaming and #retrogaming is in my blood.

My other interests are #film, #cycling and I'm also a #cubscout leader for the past 10 years. In addition, I like #sherlockholmes, #fantasyfiction, #drwho, #blakes7, #jamesbond, #misterfpga and #etymology and #classicmovies

I'm a part of the #twittermigration, looking for a place to make some connections, learn some things and explore my interests without the awful cacophany of those other socials.

So I'm reading that an #introduction post is an important step so that I'm more likely to be followed by others. Here goes...

I love the #outdoors and enjoy #hiking and #backpacking. I'm an #Aspiring46er.

I'm an #eaglescout and still volunteer with the #boyscouts as a #cubscout leader. I've taken and staffed #woodbadge.

I still play too many #videogames on my #xbox -- particularly #destiny2. Titan punch to victory!

I'm a #runner and like to track my runs on #strava for the stats!

I enjoy #books and #boardgames, love #DnD, am a #CubScout leader in #ScoutsUK, love #nature & #wildlife.

I share my life with two small people (who are now taller than me), my partner, a #cat that pees on the sofa, and a #rottweiler that is as thick as two short planks, and sometimes #blog about our antics.

I also like #cheese.
