My latest distributed file system of choice #cubefs, it's been running really well. Seems solid for sure. I'm just using it in a different project in #incus. So now I had to vibe code my way though a vibe coded python / Ansible plug-in to get it all to backed up and updated!! I for sure have no fucking clue what I'm doing in python. ( or any coded language really).
Thank the #AI gods for the security vulnerability coding in my #homelab! But the updates and backups autooomated thooooo!!!

Bruh! Already ran into a thing with #cubefs. I'm not sure why one of my ssd didn't mount. So cube marked it as bad. Once I got the disk fixed... It didn't say OK i'm good. I had to decom the drive in cube.. Which took forever cause it move data ( so you saw the fucking drive) .. Then delete a bunch of folders and shit, restart the service and then it finally came back. however, it doesn't look there is a balance feature. So I have to manually move back data to make sure the disks are balanced.
I'm not in love with that at all! Pretty damn rigid!

Moving to a new storage system wasn't that bad with #cubefs and my media. If you into distributed storage stuff, this is not a bad one to try. Shut down my test of #seaweedfs and now I gotta move my spinning rust to cube to get the space back. It has some tier system that looks interesting!!

The "Linux Iso" Migration to #cubefs has started. This is where those small n100 - n305 cpu's really hit a wall. The only time you want things to move cause its a lot .. It doesn't move.. as fast.
It's going! Now I need to change all the mount points everywhere

Been slowly trying to get #cubefs up and working. It feels cleaner than #seaweedfs to set up. Still fighting through walls with it and object store.

I just wanted to try #cubefs. I ended up with this.. I didn't need to go this hard.. the life chose me! It also doesn't work yet hahah!

I want to give #cubefs a try in the #homelab! Since it is going to require a few instances... I decided to give opentofu a try. I been away from terraform/ whatever a long time... In a matter of an hour I was able to automate at least 2 instances with dns in routerOS.. Not bad! I do however have a memory of.. When the shit gets deep.. it gets really deep..
