  3. Transparency drives accountability.

    In our response to the EU’s consultation on the #DSA Delegated Regulation, we focused on:

    1️⃣ Preventing law enforcement misuse by excluding them as vetted researchers

    2️⃣ Enabling #CSOs (incl. non-EU) through collaborative applications

    3️⃣ Ensuring robust, detailed, & updated #data inventories

    These steps will protect rights & empower meaningful research.

  5. 🚩 Last week, CDT Europe & @DisinfoEU hosted a webinar on #DSA Art.22 to explore the vetting process, benefits, and insights for #CSOs considering applying as Trusted Flaggers.

    📢 During the event, the European Commission announced that they are working on upcoming Art.22 guidelines to help harmonise practices across member states, and that a study identifying key challenges and recommendations will be published soon.

  6. 🟢 Throwback to #EUTechSociety Summit.

    Our roundtable on EU institutions engaging with #CSOs noted progress by the EU Commission, but stressed that more needs to be done to foster meaningful collaboration beyond just checking civil society participation off a list.

    EU can enhance CSOs' impact by providing feedback on their work, especially for those lacking direct access, this guidance is crucial.

    Our civil society open letter launched with @algorithmwatch, Center for AI and Digital Policy (CAIDP) and others now has support from 100+ organisations, including investors and #CSOs around the world.

    Together we urge that the treaty equally covers public & private sectors, and reject blanket exemptions regarding #NationalSecurity.
