We presented our first study on Digital Ideologies at #cscw2025:

In our work, we explored connections between the affordances of social media and political ideologies.

We let politicians across the Finnish political spectrum sketch out a social media platform and examine the values their proposals embody.

Our findings suggest that
📈 the political right prefers visibility based on popularity,
👨🏻‍🎤 while the left supports more flexible self-presentation.

Matt Ratto leads a SIG on Social Agentics, exploring how agentic AI systems can be designed in social and organizational contexts. From CSCW’s legacy of studying coordination and interdependence, the session asks how social theory can guide accountable, situated approaches to AI.

We welcomed new CSCW Steering Committee members, Sue Fussell (Chair) and Nat Poore. Karrie Karahalios ended her term as Chair. There was a lively discussion around governance, the need for senior member to volunteer to join the program committee, and the transition to rolling deadlines. #CSCW2025

I think @AoIR and @cscw should do a joint conference and just see what happens.
