  6. ChainAlysis reports that crypto crimes are becoming broader and more complex. Noteworthy, is the emergence of large-scale on-chain services providing infrastructure supporting illicit actors with crypto-laundering.

    The estimate for total crypto crime in 2024 is approx. $51B which represents 0.14% of total on-chain transaction volume. This is a slight decrease from 2023, and likely underestimates the true total. On average, crypto crime is increasing approx. 25% per year. 63% of all illicit transactions involve stablecoins. Scams involving Bitcoin (BTC) have deceased since 2021.
