I’ve done the whole #crypto #bitcoin thing. No large amounts and I'm not a #cryptobro. But I’ve come to a conclusion: it’s stupid. It’s a hassle and overly complicated. I’m stunned anyone takes white papers seriously, at all. My approach is the one I still think is the best, and has worked for me — it doesn’t matter if it has an actual purpose, what matters is that everyone else thinks it’s has value. At it’s core, it’s just busywork for computers that adds nothing worthwhile to the world. That’s it. It’s just another empty #tech promise. #cryptocoin #cryptocurrency

What fresh #cryptoCoin upfuckery is this? Restaurant I like had #qr code on the table for something called "O2Gpay" as an option for payment.
Anything with a well known payment name lookalike domain immediately triggers my scam sense.
Very little info online about it.
Mumble mumble fiat, crypto, avoid banks.
I'm sure the restaurant got paid some small amount to put the stickers up.

Still, living in a very exclusive bubble may have consequences. Look at the #cryptocoin crowd, #musk, #thiel etc.
Some of my techie friends are on the 'spectrum' even if they don't realize it themselves. They generally do the right thing because the ethical framework around them provides them with, well, ethics. I'd be worried if they grew up and lived their lives in a bubble of any kind.
This was probably not what you wanted or expected to hear. No hard feelings?

Has anyone else noticed the long descent into garbage on the #Google News aggregator? I don't login at Google so I see a more-or-less generic selection of news, based on its guess of where I'm located.
Problems I've seen:
•Promotion of #Fox and other dubious outlets
•Promotion of #cryptocoin news
•Promotion of entertainment/sports fluff over #science/#technology
•The latest is the belatedly added fact check section has been moved from the side to the bottom -

Interessante und nützliche Ansätze dagegen sehe ich bei #GNU #Taler.
Allerdings bin ich auch kein #Cryptocoin-Checker. Ich brauchte gerade bloß einige Worte, bis mein Kinn sich wieder von der Tischplatte heben ließ, nachdem ich die Zahl des Coinbase-Börsengangs gelesen hatte.
