@TehBamski Unfortunately I did not know git when I was a child. So I can not say it precisely. It was when I have arround 14 years old (+20 years ago). I remember my first game is on #blender . I dislike wrote line of codes in #python and prefer use logic bricks. I tought programmers was crazy guys and I will never ever do it in my life ! Today I am expert #cpp programmer 😂. Next I use #rpgmaker , then #UnrealEngine , #cryengine , #unity , and finaly #godot . #gamedev passion 😎

With years since the last update, CryEngine seems abandoned by CryTek.

Thankfully a community of developers started the open source CryEngine Community Edition, with the 1.0 release today!

Switching to another #GameEngine can be like learning another language. Apart from things like "material" and "camera", most of the terminology doesn't transfer. Someone compiled a phrasebook mapping #Unity3D terms to those of #Godot, #Unreal, #CryEngine, #Open3D, #GameMakerStudio, and #BabylonJS.

Back in #HuntShowdown, to me the most atmospheric, intense, exciting, nerve-wracking #PvP #shooter with a perfect core gameplay loop. There’s one huge problem though, it’s barely playable on #PS4. I don’t know if it’s the #CryEngine by itself or just poorly ported from PC, it really is a pity. - #ShareYourGames #PlayStation
