Ich wusste, dass zwischen meiner linken und rechten Hüfte + Gesäß eine muskuläre Dysbalance besteht.
Bei den ganzen Läufen in den letzten beiden Wochen hab ich das auch richtig gemerkt.
Somit werde ich bei meinem Crosstraining die linke Seite wohl entsprechend mehr trainieren müssen. Und das dann auch sehr konsequent. -
Looking for lifting program rec’s.
I’ve been #lifting the last couple years, mostly the basic moves, with steady progression, based on Rippetoe “Strength Training. But I’m curious about exploring a more formal program. I’m looking for something to compliment #running, but also to be more rounded athletically and retain mass as I look at breaking half a century.
I’m looking for other rec’s and experiences.
- Some people on a discord mentioned “Tactical Barbell”
- I like lifting for power and strength
- Zero interest in the typical “20 reps, low weight”
- Prefer a book
- 2-3 workouts/week, 45-115min ea
- Currently no mental capacity to roll my own -
Tonight’s 1 hour HIIT exposed more fatigue than I felt going into it. Ah, well... Tomorrow’s a recovery day. Thursday: a beefy uphill interval workout in the bitter cold. 🥶

Da ich als Ergänzung zum Laufen noch Crosstraining und Yoga mache, ist der gesamte Trainingsaufwand doch recht umfangreich geworden.
Damit ich da den Überblick behalte, muss ich mir wohl einen festen Trainingsplan erstellen. Denn aktuell frage ich mich jeden Morgen "Was wollte ich heute machen und was ist morgen geplant?" 🤔
Das ist auf Dauer recht nervig 😬 -
Hm. HRV is even lower today, even after a good night’s rest. Maybe my body’s fighting a bug or something. A few of the girls at work have been sick recently. #training #crosstraining

I planned to do an hour of HIIT tonight but started moving and damn… It felt like heavy going, tough to breathe well, fatigued.
Finished the first 32 min. set and called it a day. Checked my overnight HRV and sure enough, it was reduced. Not sure why. #crosstraining

And we trained in front of the temporary amusement park. It was a nice scenery! 🎢🎡🎠

My coach said I could do whatever I wanted for cross-training today, so I decided it might be fun to hit the pool for some laps.
Holy smokes... I swam 325m. What possessed me? It's been, like, 10 years since I swam. It's a shame I had to go to work afterwards, 'cause I needed a lie-down. 😂 I felt like a famished zombie, and had the shakes. But my back feels better with that no impact core workout.
I'll do it again. Just not before work. 😅

Today I felt I was finally fully recovered from last week's fastpacking adventure.
Power and cadence on the bike came very easy and my heart rate accelerated very smoothly which for me is a true sign of recovery.
Tomorrow a 3hr easy hike/run.
Look forward to that 😃. -

Today I tried a free #crosstraining class offered by a nearby #Decathlon shop.
They meet on Mondays and Tuesdays inside the shop after it closes.➡️ Squat jump x50
Pyramid x(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1):
1️⃣ Knee push-up
2️⃣ Lunge [left & right]➡️ Abs exercises (10')
The pyramid counts a total of 100 reps 😭 and the abs part was torture!
It's a good session and it's totally free. Too bad it's on the same days of my free gym + circuit training.

I would love to claim that I’ve gotten so in tune with myself that I could hold such a stable zone 2 workout. The truth is, I learned how to set an intensity target for each workout (in my watch) just yesterday.
I can honestly say that I am putting in all the work I possibly can, preparing for my upcoming 50K. Running, riding, strength training, pilates and yoga. It’s all there. I think a real coach would be damned proud of me.

It's inconsequential, but I had to break my 45 min. HIIT ride into two workouts after 9 minutes because I didn't trust the HR readings from my chest strap (Avg HR 88 bpm? No). Switched over to the wrist HR sensor for the remainder.

If you’re ever in the mood to isolate weaknesses in your legs, you might try single-leg cycling. Give each leg enough time to fatigue. Feel the burn! 😅
Right leg: jerkier motion with weakness in hamstring and glutes.
Left leg: smooth motion, with weakness in quads and hip flexor.
I’m guessing that compensatory swing from posterior to anterior chain is the source of that wobble that clears up if I focus on driving my knees while running. Hm. #cycling #crosstraining #running

My first easy 3.5 mile run today was garbage (as you’d expect) but my hamstring feels decent and I’m good to go for 2x30 single-leg cycling after dinner. I’m just going to trust the process. #running #cycling #crosstraining

Our body’s ability to adapt to new demand so quickly blows my mind.
I was able to ignore my legs and focus on my breathing throughout. That’s a big improvement. Quick.
