I'm increasingly sceptical about Virgin grand plans for #CrossChannelRail. Avelia Stream may turn out much riskier than it originally seemed. ORR should set down a deadline for funding and placing the 🚄 order. If not met, then it should reallocatevspare room at Temple Mills (ideally to Gemini). 🔜

200km/h 🚅 ist cheaper to buy and maintain than 320km/h 🚄. But is less productive, too. High-density 🚄 is perhaps the most relevant stock for budget #CrossChannelRail services.

Errr, given SNCF owns 55% of Eurostar, SNCF is not going to be acting on its own there anyway And as my #CrossChannelRail project repeatedly showed (and as Laffon confirms) there is not going to be a OUIGOstar

There are queues for security and passport control at the UK terminal. Well-managed, though, and the whole thing is done in about ten minutes.
The departure lounge, half-built the last time I was here, is full. Not oppressively so... some people are standing but with a squeeze everyone would probably have a seat.
For me, Lille is the best Eurostar node on the #CrossChannelRail routes right now with Amsterdam doing well and London and Brussels decent enough these days. Gare du Nord is the outlier, an utter gong show.
