Wooaa… for a mInute there I thought you sat up all night to write this.
It’s obvious that an LNP govt would be ‘moronic’. It’s obvious that Labor has lurched to the right of its platform and scarcely made any progressive headways in its failed easy-peasy approach. What is also obvious is that it seems the Greens have not yet reached the critical mass to warrant a similar ‘analysis’ of their performance. More’s the pity I think.Failing to reach this critical mass (though who sets this metric I am not sure), the ACT Greens have been unjustly rebucked ( more like a slap on the wrists really) for cosying up to Labor in govt. As a result, the electorate (and the ineffective press corps) didn’t get a look at the work done by the Greens ‘in govt’ where every policy was tarred with a Labor brush as it came out of the backstageand unto the Assembly floor.
For a crossbench to be effective there are any number of issues to be addressed. But the most important one IMO is achieving this ‘critical mass’ where there is a commonly agreed to legislative agenda. It’s not pie in the sky stuff but it’s a big ask.

A little while ago I postulated that Labor’s ‘environmental policy failures’ tallied by the msm of late along with general condemnation of the environment minister, had the look of a deliberate set up. I also said there was an EPA legislation currently shelved in the minister’s office. Notice how, today, #tanyaplibersek posted a ‘stand-by’ for the EPA message on Facebook…. #auspol #environment #msm It makes me wonder what (whom, actually) is the blockage to tabling the said legislation in Parliament. Is the opposition to the bill within the #labor party? I don’t think so. It can only be in the cross bench because the asking price to pass it is way too high for Labor’s liking. #crossbench

The Yanks can skip the #CompulsoryVoting if they insist. But it is good for calming politics no need for the "bring out the vote" intensity with "or the opposition will eat your kids" madness. And it makes some fraud even harder to do - like voter impersonation or dead people voting - if everybody votes in every election.#Australian #democracy is not perfect, but i think we're probably close to the "least-broken"?

🎶you're gonna get whacked, by the mining tax🎶The expanding #Green and #Teal #CrossBench is providing some push back on the #mining lobby's environmental bullshit.
But we're still getting ripped off, if the government says we "can't afford" something, they're lying. We have an entire continent full of almost every mineral the world wants to buy, we just need to #tax it properly or nationalise it, not let a few individuals hoard all the profits.
But if we went full محمد مصدق or #Gough #Whitlam … then our friends the USA might decide we'd picked the wrong government and change it for us?
I don't necessarily want to change their government, I want to change how they elect it.
