Here are some portraits I made of another very dear artist friend of mine over the years. I appreciate the time she allotted every time I depicted her so I could come to some sort of conclusion with whatever task or vision I set upon myself. She is herself a very successful painter and I am always baffled as to why she wants to sit for me but I’m always grateful :)

This is a portrait of an artist friend that was so nice to sit for me. Wanted to have some paintings of my friends to hang on the wall but he wanted it very much so I gave it to him instead :). Direct en face portraits are very hard to execute for me and the drawing has a few issues. Looking back it kind of adds to the charm though.

Went outside with a fellow artist today and painted a castle that’s not too far here. It was very cold but I got my gloves and warm clothes. As always, I hoped for a better outcome technically, but it good to have room to grow too I guess :) I am happy about the light effect I was able to create though.

This painting was part of an exhibition a couple weeks ago where it actually ended up winning a prize! It felt very unreal and I was a bit proud. It sold too! :D

Some 3D practice from years back that I dug up for someone recently. I took some photos in the amazing Landschaftspark in Duisburg and then tried to apply what I knew about linear perspective by determining vanishing point etc. Then I just drew the lines. Should probably do more of this.

Trying to push myself outside my comfort zone a bit, working on a larger canvas with a larger palette too. This is Alex Bone, and he is certainly not based on any copyrighted characters. Certainly not.

@tuatarara maybe it's an idea to use a hashtag for it? Something like #CritiqueWelcome or perhaps more specifically #ArtCritiqueWelcome?

Could also create a Guppe group, but I fear that having to rely on another instance/service for it could be another barrier to enter, as well as another potential point of failure.

I wouldn't call myself a professional, beginning nor otherwise, nor do I have formal training, but I wouldn't mind some constructive critique on some of my work. Getting boosts and "that looks pretty" is nice and all, but constructive feedback would probably help more in improving my work. :)
