Melbourne Critical Mass did Footscray Road and we remembered 22yo human Angus Collins killed along here by a person driving a concrete truck.
“It’s likely that both cyclists and left turning traffic had simultaneous green lights. The pylon for the elevated freeway creates a large blind spot for drivers.”
“Substandard cycling infrastructure is killing us, we deserve better.” Says Bike West.

Thanks @CoNoNick for this wonderful photo of #JulietandJones stopping to chat (and for a pat) at the #criticalmass on #sydneyroad last night. We had an awesome time cycling on Sydney Road without worrying about cars or trucks whizzing by or the threat of a car door opening as we come along. Protected bike lanes would be ace, as well as accessible tram stops, and wider footpaths with some actual trees to moderate urban heat in summer, what with #ClimateChange getting worse.
