New fan artwork: Edith and Thomas from „Crimson Peak“, a Gothic Romance/Horror film by Guillermo del Toro from 2015.

This is one of my all-time favourites, because I love his films and the genre. These characters were played by Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hiddleston.

I tried to emulate the look of historical drawings from the 19th century, but instead of an old-fashioned drawing pen and liquid ink, I used fineliners.

It's a personal annual tradition for me to re-watch the gothic romance/horror film "Crimson Peak" by Guillermo del Toro (from 2015).
I did so today, with the lights out, just some tealights burning. I very much enjoyed it.

@DebC Never saw #CrimsonPeak before. Didn't know that del Toro wrote & directed it. Watching it now. Didn't recognize her at first but #JessicaChastain gives a great performance as the crazy sister. Going to buy a #DVD copy to add to my collection.

#Iwatched the gothic horror film #CrimsonPeak (2015) by #GuillermoDelToro, inspired by his favourite classics from #TheInnocents to #TheExorcist. A high mark that this film misses by a long shot, because del Toro can leave nothing to the imagination. The script is chatty, the CGI ghosts parade in broad daylight, the aestheticized violence is gratuitous and even the dead victims have left clichéd recordings. A middling acting turn by #MiaWasikowska doesn't help. It's just a shame about the story.

Will shit. #RogerCorman (1926-2024) died just a few days ago. While he's known for making a lot of really bad #bmovies he also made the excellent (Edgar Allen) Poe Cycle. The first, and probably my favourite, The Fall of the House of Usher, gave the career of #VincentPrice a much-needed kick in the pants.
