  1. @oCDo "Neither order is arbitrary. The #Devon way, cream then jam, leans on a dairy heritage where clotted cream was the prized element, spread like butter; the Cornish way, jam then cream, is fiercely tied to Cornish clotted cream sitting proudly on top. Both are centuries-deep regional identity rather than a right-or-wrong rule, which is why the broader afternoon tea tradition treats it as living custom, not etiquette to police." #CreamTea #Cornwall

  5. Walking around IKEA wondering why you never get squirty cream in a #creamtea. They could do a 1/3 sized can, to go with the tiny jar of jam.

  6. Already seen one very obvious April Fool Day joke earlier this morning on the #CornwallLive website.

Here in #SWEngland there's always been a certain amount of rivalry between #Cornwall & #Devon.

When you have a #CreamTea (i.e. pot of tea and jam/cream on a scone), in #Cornwall the accepted norm is to put jam on the scone first then the cream on top. In #Devon it's the other way round, i.e. cream then jam.

The article said that the #UKGovernment had banned the Devonian method. 1/2
