It’s (definitely not a cynically Made Up To Sell Product marketing exercise) National Cream Tea Day!
Apparently.
Which is definitely a legitimate reason to share this explainer video I made previously to try to explain what a proper English Cream Tea is. Largely to try to demonstrate to those unfamiliar with it what clotted cream is like.
Why not inform yourself about this highly civilised summer tradition? https://makertube.net/w/ut33zjsZMoFfULhVdriczd

Are you jam first - or cream first? I live in Cornwall, so it has to be jam first https://www.koolbadges.co.uk/jam-first-cornwall-flag-badge-p-8762.html #cornwall #devon #kernow #jamfirst #creamfirst #badge #buttons #handmade #handmadeincornwall #scone #nationaltrust #kernow #creamtea

Cream then jam. No poll, this isn’t a debate.

Oh goodness, these were #delicious. Thank you @richie. #scones #CreamTea

Right this is the only way to have a #CreamTea and anyone who states otherwise is wrong. Yes I’ve asked before but there’s new people here well, let’s have a good old debate.

Walking around IKEA wondering why you never get squirty cream in a #creamtea. They could do a 1/3 sized can, to go with the tiny jar of jam.

Already seen one very obvious April Fool Day joke earlier this morning on the #CornwallLive website.
Here in #SWEngland there's always been a certain amount of rivalry between #Cornwall & #Devon.
When you have a #CreamTea (i.e. pot of tea and jam/cream on a scone), in #Cornwall the accepted norm is to put jam on the scone first then the cream on top. In #Devon it's the other way round, i.e. cream then jam.
The article said that the #UKGovernment had banned the Devonian method. 1/2
