Who should be in charge of eradicating a new invasive beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros) that has the potential to wipe out Maui's coconut trees? The Mayor? State Department of Agriculture? County Department of Ag? Wackadoos with Tin Foil Hats who blame everything on 5G and gluten?

Been away from Mastodon for a few months but I think I'm back.

Coconut Rhinoceros Beetles.

#CRB were first discovered on #Maui where I live a couple weeks ago. If allowed to establish here, we can say goodbye to the coconut.

Oahu is currently being ravaged. Kauai and Hawaii Islands had their first CRB records earlier this year.

A Hawaii without coconut trees is a terrible future to imagine.

Will we find the will and the $ to deal with this beetle?
