  1. Crater Lake on a still afternoon. When the water goes calm like this, it stops looking like a lake and more like a piece of sky fell into a bowl of rock.

Thanks for taking a moment to look.

  3. Hype for the Future 135D: Crater Lake

Introduction Crater Lake is renowned across the United States of America for being the deepest lake in the nation, notable for water clarity as well as for the associated deep blue color. Today, the entire area of Crater Lake National Park is situated within the boundaries of Klamath County and is notable for containing an isolated lake in the region. 5. Maroon Bells Panoramic

Maroon Bells had always been on my bucket list. This mountain landscape is truly a wonderful hiking destination.
I was able to time the trip almost perfectly for the fall color season. The aspen trees were dressed in their best fall colors and the big puffy clouds in the sky kept the afternoon cool.

  6. I spotted a couple of Sooty Grouses while on the Watchman Lookout Trail at Crater Lake on September 10. They were fun to watch as they pecked their way through the rocks and into the more forested area.

  7. Crater Lake. My first impression was how overwhelmingly blue it is. The rim trail goes from here over to the other side of the island, and then connects with the PCT after 8 miles or so. It's technically a PCT alternate, but only the most pure redliner would skip it.
