Op zaterdag 18 april spelen Crashing, Barren Sea en Doom Fever in De Kroepoekfabriek. De drie opkomende bands hebben een alternatief geluid dat verwant is aan shoegaze, grunge en slowcore. Voor fans van My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins en DIIV.
Crashing
Geïnspireerd door shoegaze en alt-rock giganten als Dinosaur Jr. en My Bloody Valentine grijpt Crashing je met een mix van galmende, intense hooks en puur oorverdovend volume met een sterke nadruk op DIY cultuur. Zet de gain harder. Sloop je drumkit. Neem oordopjes mee.
Barren Sea
Barren Sea is een in Amsterdam gevestigde alternatieve rockband die grunge, slowcore en shoegaze combineert tot een geluid dat laveert tussen ruwheid en tederheid. Hun geluid schommelt tussen rauw en weids, waarbij distortion en melodie in evenwicht worden gehouden met een gevoel van intimiteit dat nog lang na de laatste noot blijft hangen.
Doom Fever
Doom Fever is een driemans gitaarrockband die alternatieve rock en grunge uit de jaren 90 combineert met moderne shoegaze. Ze laten zich inspireren door indie-acts als Teenage Fanclub en Screaming Trees, maar ook door moderne bands als Ovlov & Parannoul. De band houdt van nummers met veel fuzz, die zich ontvouwen rond beukende, spetterende drums en lo-fi riffs, onderbroken door feedback die klinkt als een zwart gat, maar toch een zekere elegantie vinden in de chaos.

So I've been experiencing occasional #crashing on #AlpineLinux with an #AMD 6800H #APU #Hardware using #amdgpu. I've been trying to determine what the cause may be. The system will regularly freeze at the disk decryption prompt when booting, sometimes before that, or after when in #Wayland #Sway. I just tried upgrading to #libdrm 2.4.124 on alpine edge. Would appreciate any ideas that may be causing this behavior. Should I see if it's possible to get a newer kernel?

Anyone else still using an Intel Mac? Is your Mac locking up/hard crashing more often since the latest MacOS release?
I have a reasonable suspicion that Intel support is going straight to hell with this release. After all, why would Apple invest much money there at all when they want everyone on Apple CPUs?
