On 30 November, the new #MetroTunnel in #Melbourne 🇦🇺 opened that allows Metro Trains to avoid the city loop. Trains are currently running only every 20 minutes from 10 am to 3 pm providing direct services between #Footscray and #Westall. Regular service will start in February connecting #Sunbury with #Pakenham and #Cranbourne.

Took one of the new #PTV trains on the #Cranbourne line yesterday - who on earth did they design these for? The seats are spaced so close together it's like flying Tiger air.
I'm not _that_ tall (around 189CM~) and there's no world where I could fit in the majority of seats on these things, instead I'm relegated to standing or blocking the path for others.

Although there should be limits to "industrial" use of residential land, these new regulations that appear to require a permit and application, with fee, for changing a tyre on your car or similar hobbyist/DIY auto maintenance / repair tasks seem a bit of an over-reaction to me.

More gorgeous #roses from #Cranbourne #Australia.
They’re lovely and fundamentally simple in appearance but oh so pretty, for mine.
A close- up smell revealed that characteristic fresh, but subtle #rose aroma that tickles the nose and brings back memories of times-past. Childhood mainly.
It’s amazing how flower scents (and many things; perfume, eucalypts in the bush, seaside, baked goods, roast lamb… even cut grass) can bring back fond memories of happiness and love.

How lovely is this cute #Californiapoppy (#Eschscholziacalifornica) huh?
Also known as the golden poppy, California sunlight or cup of gold.
It is native to the United States and Mexico. It‘s grown as an ornamental plant flowering in summer (although I read with interest, usually spring in southern Australia, such as in #Victoria), with cup-shaped flowers in brilliant shades of red, orange and yellow (occasionally pink and white).
It is also used as food or a garnish.
Fun Fact; It became the official state flower of California in 1903.

The gorgeous deep purple and firm, well hydrated petals are testament to the heartiness of this plant, so too it’s gardener-carer.
It’s late in the season for roses to be displaying with so much form and health.
I really do love this one.
(It’s in my singing teacher’s garden, she’s a gorgeous woman).
