  1. 🌟🦀 Hubble just delivered one of its most stunning images yet. A breathtaking new view of the Crab Nebula!

This iconic supernova remnant, the glowing wreckage of a star that exploded in 1054 AD, reveals fresh details about how cosmic explosions shape the universe over time. The clarity is breathtaking.

  2. The Crab Nebula Expanding

Hubble took one photo in 1999 and a second in 2026, the difference between the two pictures shows how much the nebula has expanded in 25 years.

  5. The Spinning Pulsar of the Crab Nebula

At the core of the Crab Nebula lies a city-sized, magnetized neutron star spinning 30 times a second. Known as the Crab Pulsar, it is the bright spot in the center of the gaseous swirl at the nebula's core. About twelve light-years across, the spectacular picture frames the glowing gas, cavities and swirling filaments near the Crab Nebula's center.

  6. ✨ Neutron stars are tiny in size yet colossal in mass.

💥 Born from supernovae, they pack more than the Sun’s mass into a sphere only miles across.

🥄 A single teaspoon of their matter would weigh billions of tonnes, more than an entire mountain range.

🔭 From pulsars to the Crab Nebula, explore the densest matter in the universe.

Hey out there! We had 2 really good nights for imaging the last two nights!
So long only mist an clouds...

today's Picture is the famous Crab Nebula, my best i9mage of it so far! 5 hours of collecting photons in two nights where i hat to struggle with 80% humidity and -5°C

    Here is the result 😍

  8. Messier 1, also known as the #CrabNebula, is a #supernova remnant located in the constellation #Taurus, approximately 6,500 light-years away from Earth. The object reaches its annual culmination at astronomical midnight around December 16th.
