The Dolgo Crabapples (malus 'Dolgo') are almost ready for harvest. They make a beautiful red jelly. I infuse lavender into some jars for a rosy colored lavender jelly.

After going foraging for sprigs and berries for some upcoming arrangements, I'm resolved to grow a small cluster of my own juniper trees for future years' projects. I've fallen in love with the gorgeous deep greens and blues, and of course some infusions are in my future with all these berries, too!
Since I don't know of any hashtags already out there for fall and winter that are analogous to spring and summer's widely followed #BloomScrolling, I'm going to throw my fall and winter foliage/scenery images under #SignsOfTheSeason. I'm all ears for any other seasonal nature related hashtags folks know of as well!

This was a few days ago, rain on crabapples in the front border. The blue in the background is a Monkshood flower. The monkshood have had an especially good fall, and they grew right up into the crab apple tree. The super sharp Voigtlander 110 lens, in this case drawing the background as pretty as any of my pretty vintage lenses. Processed the raw file, not edited. (and no boost to saturation or “vibrance”).

Crabapples ripening. Another 4-6 weeks and they'll be deep red and shine up like candy. Not the best tasting raw but a few added to apple sauce will make it really red and sugar fixes everything.
