  1. Campaign for the Prevention of Rural Electricity managed to prevent storage on the Devon border.

    Not sure it is.
Look on it as paying to have that generating capacity available on dim days with low winds; and in the future, and as a transitional situation.

You might better blame the #CPRE 1 for impeding the installation of batteries along 2 the transmission routes as well as the building of capacity in places with spare transmission.

Despite the efforts of the #CPRE Committee for the Prevention of Rural Electricity.

Our local one has a chap who thinks we should all wait until modular nuclear fission boilers are in production.

  4. Recently I was delighted to be invited to give a talk in the Campaign to Protect Rural England's Spring Webinar Series on 'The Changing West Antarctic Ice Sheet - Global and Local Implications'.

  5. @glynmoody It is a counterpoint to the Campaign for the Prevention of Rural Electricity, with their contention that putting panels and turbines in fields decreases food production.
The alternative to them reduces food production, via CO2 and heat.

How apposite that Drax are villains. #007
I expect there are chains of connection to the campaign for the prevention of rural electricity (#CPRE ) etc.

A bit of shade from solar panels is helpful, this is known.
The Campaign for the Prevention of Rural Electricity look like enemies of the State, the people, and the farmers.

The Campaign to Prevent Rural Electricity will be involved no doubt.

In Australia I see there is a COAL-ition against offshore wind. (I don't think the members want onshore wind either)

I suspect, but have not done numbers, that in wet Devon a field which caught 50% of the rain on panels and led it away via gutters would be less flooded. There were a lot of crops lost to flooding last winter

The French and perhaps Australian approach to car parks, covers likewise, is useful and comfortable.

The Campaign for the Prevention of Rural Electricity ( #CPRE ) activities are a nuisance, I assume linked to fossil floggers.

  11. The #CPRE's excellent Jackie Copley:
“No amount of green belt loss reduces house prices .... If you don’t tackle the real problems, you are not going to find the real solutions.”

  12. #CPRE speaker on @BBCRadio4 #Today was very good this morning on planning and #GreenBelt.
I gave up the fight of trying to locate the clip on the BBC website but it was before 8.00 I think.

  13. Among the several things the Campaign for the Prevention of Rural Electricity (CPRE) and a lot of other groups, some astroturf, which sail under deceptive title of the Solar Alliance miss or represent incorrectly is that rooftop solar panels don't feed power to the National Grid, they add it to the local distribution network.
Large solar farms will feed to the Grid, hence tend to cluster around access points to the Grid.
So one does not replace the other.
