“Harp Sonata in G Major, H. 563 (Wq. 139)” (https://youtu.be/m1zQBeLzpm4?is=lY_2-Lg4nOowS3id) was composed by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach AKA C.P.E. Bach AKA second (surviving) son of Johann Sebastian Bach. I know this is kinda in that weird inbetween-y era of Baroque and Classical music but I feel like the dynamics and the overall liveliness of the piece just screams Summer Vibes

“Solfeggietto in C minor” (https://youtu.be/JiETLLsXzFI?si=IDsAGWZ79EJHujbd) was composed by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach AKA C.P.E. Bach, who was the second (surviving) son of Johann Sebastian Bach. This particular pice is rather unusual b/c it’s completely “Monophonic” AKA it has an unaccompanied melodic line throughout with NO Harmonies, etc. This interpretation was arranged by German composer and pianist Luca Sestak

@danrebellato o wow, what an incredible idea! Maybe starting with a book by James R. Gaines "An Evening in the Palace of Reason" and then following up with the music mentioned there? It's mainly about the clash of worldviews and beliefs between JS Bach and one of his sons, CPE Bach, and the story behind "Musical Offering".
I devised my Bach vs. Bach programme inspired by the book.

My pleasure!
Some people sort this into galante, but yes its from a transitional period. #CPEBach and #LeopoldMozart belonged to the same generation
